Downtown is where Louisville's convention business lives. The Kentucky International Convention Center hosts the big shows, the hotels around it take the receptions and sponsor dinners, and Fourth Street Live picks up the after-parties. A live station fits all three, but each one asks for a different build.
On a KICC show floor the station goes into your booth plan, power is ordered through the venue, and load-in follows the marshalling schedule with a dock time and a drayage slot. In a downtown hotel the questions are simpler: which freight elevator, what time, and whether the circuit is shared with catering. During Derby week those elevator windows book solid and load-in can land at 6am.
What works downtown
- Live screen printing: one booth design on a lot of shirts, fast enough for a show-floor line.
- Live DTF: names and full-color art for a sponsor reception or a company night.
- Live hat bar: a gift for a hotel hospitality suite that isn't another tee.
- Promo & hard goods: printed totes that attendees carry around the hall all day.
Downtown also holds the KFC Yum! Center, the Louisville Palace and Mercury Ballroom, so a multi-night program can change rooms without the kit leaving the area. Past downtown, we also cover NuLu (East Market), The Highlands, Whiskey Row, Old Louisville, and the rest of Louisville.
For a KICC booth: 10×10 ft per station, two dedicated 120V circuits ordered through the venue, and the move-in window in writing.
