How Does Live Printing Work at a Louisville Event?

Four steps, most of them done before the crew lands.

We ship presses, blanks and a crew to your venue, build a station and print custom merch in front of your guests, and each guest waits about two minutes for theirs. For Louisville the gear goes by freight from Fullerton and the printers fly in a day early.

Here's the order a Louisville job runs in:

  1. Room and window. We confirm the space and the load-in time. At the Kentucky International Convention Center that means a dock time and a drayage slot. In a NuLu loft it usually means a door and a lift.
  2. Art and freight. Art locks about a week out. Screens get burned, transfers get printed, and the crates leave Fullerton on a truck.
  3. Build and test. The crew lands the day before, meets the freight and runs test prints before your doors open.
  4. Print and strike. Guests pick a garment and a design, watch it get made and wear it out. We tear down around your run-of-show.

It works in most Louisville rooms: a KICC hall, a KFC Yum! Center concourse, a hotel ballroom, a distillery yard or a hospitality tent near the track. Tell us about your event and we'll map the setup.

Two things to plan for here. Date changes are easiest with two weeks' notice, because the freight is scheduled by then. And on Oaks and Derby days, street closures near Churchill Downs start early, so everything rides in on the first trip and the truck stays put until the crowd clears.
